Silica fabric

Brief Description:

Silica fabric, comprising over 96% silica, maintains its properties even at temperatures up to 1000°C. It is crafted from silica yarns derived from continuous glass fibers, which are 6 μm in diameter or larger and treated to boost the SiO2 content to over 94%.

 

This fabric serves as reinforcement in composite materials and acts as an insulator for acoustic, thermal, hydraulic, and electrical applications. It exhibits excellent chemical stability under normal conditions, though the glass fiber additives decompose above 200°C. These additives protect the fibers during handling and enhance their technical properties. The fabric complies with the REACH directive.
